Hi Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?


It is really our story. My husband and I started selling body oils online on Facebook. When we moved to Greenville, SC from Northern Virginia we continued selling our oils but wanted to expand.

I had always been frustrated with the products for body care, hair care, and skincare because of all of the chemicals and that inspired me to start to formulate my own products. I began my research on different types of oils, butter, and natural preservatives and started to experiment with different combinations to determine what gave the best outcome.

My Bokiyah’s butter was the first item, a mix of unrefined shea butter, mango butter, and avocado butter. Plant-derived emulsifying wax and arrowroot powder it was luxurious. My family and friends loved it and so did I. They all begin to encourage me to make more products and sell them. I developed a skin-nourishing lotion, then a goat’s milk soap, salt scrub, and next bath salts.

It was all coming together and because people loved the products so much, my husband and I launched Davis and Davis Solutions LLC -The Small Gud Shop. Now, I have added candles, a skincare line, and some hair products for natural hair. The reception has been great.

We sell online, we bring our products and sell at local markets and some of our products are in 5 businesses in the area. We continue to push forward trying to moisturize and exfoliate one person at a time and have them smell Gud in the process.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?

No, it has not been a smooth road.

The business right now is mostly sustained by our personal funds because we are not profitable yet but our products do sell and we have loyal customers that keep coming back.

Nothing is stopping us because we believe in the quality of our product and that they are providing an alternative to the chemicals and detergents that are out on the market now.

Our motto: We are looking for the people that say Yes to our products not No. We are driven by that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

The name Davis and Davis Solutions LLC “wisdom at work” is a unique brand that exemplifies style and ingenuity.

We are an environmental conscience company that provides beautifully handcrafted soaps, body butter, lotions, facial products, hair products, lip balms, scrubs, and fragrance oils.

All of our fragrances come from either a tree, plant, or flower. We make it our business to use responsibly sourced ingredients that are healthy and nourishing to the whole body. Nothing fake or unhealthy in our products!

We are pleased to offer products where you can read and pronounce every ingredient.

Cyrus and Bokiyah Davis as we are affectionately called

We are a husband and wife team who love to serve people; a dynamic duo of sorts. It is in our DNA to provide a solution for people’s problems We are “ebeds” the Hebrew word for servants. Our first love is exhorting the Word of The Highest and because of this, we meet so many people in our travels that share their joys, sorrows, and obstacles in life with us.

We both use our gifts, talents, and abilities to create and formulate the product offerings we provide.

Cyrus loves interacting with people so he is always out and about at markets and vending events talking about and selling our products. I on the other hand love the behind-the-scenes work of creating our formulas using different Oils, Butters, Clays Colored Powders and mixing these items together to provide handcrafted items that I put love in.

All the fragrance oils that we use purposely come from something in nature like a tree, flower, plant, herb, etc. If it can’t be found in nature we don’t want it in our products!

So, Davis and Davis Solutions LLC’s “wisdom at work” was born from our love of service to people and wanting to create wonderful skincare products that we are pleased to use ourselves and share with others. Our journey together continues to mature daily as we think of new ways to create new products that allow us to satisfy our customers.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is when I am enjoying the outdoors whether on a nature walk, swimming in a lake or ocean, visiting a tropical island, or in my workspace whipping and mixing the products we offer.

I am happy when I read the words in the Bible and try to live by those principles. All these things provide great joy and make a difference in my life and because they do they provide inspiration so I can affect someone else life.
